For Modem users who might want to save some time and bandwidth tonight,
If you have an alternate high speed connection [e.g. at work] you can
download the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
[MSRT](KB890830) directly from here.

Just download it, put it on your flash drive, take it home, put it in a
temporary location and run it. Let it use the default quick scan.

Run this Before you connect to the internet. Windows update will detect
that you have already used the tool and will not download it.

The latest version, v1.29 is 6,772KB so this will save you about 20 minutes
of download time.

In case all parts of the country don't see the same pages at the same time
make sure it says:

Quick Details
File Name: Windows-KB890830-V1.29.exe
Version: 1.29
Knowledge Base (KB) Articles: KB890830
Date Published: 5/8/2007

If it says version 1.28 and has April date, that is last months version,
just refresh the page or try a little later.

You may delete the file after your updates are done.
