We’ve had a large number of virus’ around our network as of late and the tool
has been invaluable for our XP Pro systems. I’ve tried running the tool on
XPe and end up with an error: sysclean error: Internal error, code =
8050800C.

Is there a similar tool for XPe?
Anyone know when will the Malicious software removal tool be available for
XPe?
Is there any possibility of making this tool function for XPe?

Thanks for any help!

Brooke,

Yeah, we got the latest variant of the W32 trojan on our systems, too. I
would have loved to be able to run MRT, as well, but can't.

So, I downloaded MalwareBytes for free from here
(http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html)
and downloaded the latest definitions from here
(http://malwarebytes.gt500.org/database.jsp) installed and ran it.
Eradicated! Make sure you get the latest patches installed. FYI, mine was
the patch for MS08-067.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip!
