Probably far too frequently when I start IE, I am sent to the micosoft web
page which indicates that "malicious software removal tool has reset my start
page" or something of that nature...I reset the home page as instructed and
everything is fine for a while. Then, out of nowhere, IE is starting up on
that microsoft page again. I checked my registry as well as instructed and
everything seems to be exactly as it shows on that page. I am running Norton
daily and Windows Defender daily, updating both as necessary and they are
showing that nothing is being detected. Any suggestions and/or comments?

I don't know how you're being instructed to change the home page.
Personally, I use the security program to set the home page instead of
doing it through Control Panel> (or IE> Tools>) Internet Options. If you
use multiple security programs that lockdown the home page, be sure to set
the same home page in each program. Otherwise, they end up fighting each
other over what should be "home."

Also, I've had a few "refreshes" or updates to Windows Defender change
everything back to defaults - the microsoft home page (MSN). It really
shouldn't do that but when it happens, resetting the homepage in that
program and double checking that it matches what is in all other security
programs is the only way that I know of to set it right again.
