Nothing appears to be said about doing your work in EZ to manage sections, of
say 12 slides with transitions and text etc. Then another, etc.
HOW or is it possible to then merge the various shows into one large
contrnuous show, and how to do it?
And I wish to copy/send final show to various relatives, will they be able
to show it on their TV? If they have what to do so???
More.... how much overhead does the copying of the WMM boilerplate software
commands take on the CD or in the overall pesentation, like 125 k or???

TIA, newby enjoying the concept....
If I M working with ver 2.o, should I go to 3.0 for any particular reason or
advantage???

THanks THanks etc Larry

Make one section, save it as a dv-avi file.
Repeat with all ez sections.
When you have finished, start a new project, import all the dv-avi files and
make your finsihed movie.

Lots of ways, make a dvd for them to play on their dvd player.
Make a vcd or svcd, these can be saved to cd if you only have a cd writer.
There dvd player has to be able to play vcd or svcd.
See www.videohelp.com for what dvd payers will play what.
If you don't have any software to do this, as Movie maker will not do it,
then ask a fresh question.

Not sure what you are getting at here.

No version 3, latest is V2.1 which comes with SP2. If all is running ok, and
you like what you can do, stick with it.

Graham, thanks for fine info

Thought I read that one CAN send a CD to a person that doesnt have WMM, by
copying the program to that CD? Then they could see the show as it was
designed. Guess the overhead would be whatever WMM bytes are.....

ALso new- Evidently the WMM enhances slide show CAN be 'somehow' copied to
a DVD. One finishes their full WMM made slide show with bells and whistles,
then saves (?) it to their hard drive. Then they use a DVD authoring program
to transfer that WWM show to the DVD. However I M not sure how the time
pauses etc get transferred....
OR
Is one supposed to PLAY their WMM show and while it is playing live, record
it to the DVD? Having little experience with the ins and outs of DVD/CD
copying, I inwardly feel there are some gaps not filled in regarding the
process.
Thanx again

They can but they are not sending anything other than the finished movie in
either WMV or AVI format.
This video clip can be viewed on any Media Player program and no longer has
anything to do with WMM.

When you save the movie (not the project) to your hard drive you now have a
complete movie clip with the timing and everything incorporated into it. Now
that file is imported into a DVD Authoring program which converts the file
to MPEG2 and creates a VOB file that is recognized by the DVD Player. It
then burns that to a DVD and you can watch it in the DVD Player.

So step by step:
Create your project in Movie Maker.
Save the movie to your hard drive by clicking "Save to my computer" or
typing CTRL+P
Follow the save movie wizard through the steps
Type a name for the video & choose a location [NEXT]
Click the radio button next to "Other Settings"
Since your movie is apparently made up of all still images and audio
I would select "High Quality video (NTSC) from the dropdown menu [NEXT]
Now your movie clip will be created. (This may take a little while)
After rendering you will have a complete movie named whatever you named it
in the location you specified.
Next you open your DVD Authoring program. (There's a list of popular
programs to download on my website)
Import your completed video into the authoring program and create any menus
etc... you want
The program will convert your video into a VOB file which is recognized by
DVD Players and burn it to a DVD.
And your done.
I couldn't give you specific step-by-step instruction as to the DVD program
without knowing which program you intend to use. Once you decide that if you
need further assistance just ask and most of us can help.
Hope this does the trick for you.

Whew!!!!!
Now if only the DVD writers or the software manuals (yeah, the web based
ones, arrrgh) would be so specific.
Even as I write this I am in the middle of making/compiling a family
history, which in itself is a daunting task, using old prints scanned, dates
guessed, names sometimes forgotten, et etc etcdccccccc.
So being bogged down technologically was the last thing I needed since once
I hit the wunnerful age of 65 memory and attention/dealing with complex tasks
has been a major snafu in life, in general!
So your to-the-point concise information is a give from above, or at least
from our cyberspace.

Gracias.

And may all your holidays be bright....

I know, the memory is the 2nd thing to go and I can't remember what the
first thing is :-)
Well hopefully the info I gave you does the trick and Happy Holiday's to you
as well.
