making icons availableto all users

G

GotBonus?

A little preface...
1 computer
2 users/logins
Different programs on each "side"
A friend called me tonight and asked..how do I get the icon for "whatever"
on to my desktop from hers(while keeping it on her side as well)?
How do you make programs globally accessible?

Weird thing...she had the program and icon up on her side, the logged off a
logged back on to his "side" downloaded and installed the app, and it
disappeared from HER side.

Placing the shortcuts in the following folder, will make them available for
everyone.

%Allusersprofile%\Desktop
(Type in Start/Run)

Is there a simple solution, I.E is there a way to get this to happen all the
time?

Simplest solution is to move the shortcuts to the "All Users" area, as I
stated earlier. See the following page also:

No, because many software packages don't allow you to specify whether
installation is for single or all users.
