Making hyperlink image disapper when clicked

I'm in the process of creating a game where once you click on a gold coin,
which is a hyperlink to a question, the coin will disappear and remain
invisible throughout the game. I can get it to dissolve when clicked but
when I return to that slide, the coin comes back. Any suggestions?

How does the navigation work? If it works in kiosk mode (with hyperlinks to
slides instead of pressing enter key), the gold coin should remain hidden.

This game is to be played as an entire class. On slide 2 I have the board
that includes numbered coins that are hyperlinked to slides that contain
questions. After answering the question, we are to return to slide 2 to pick
another coin but I want all previously picked coins to disappear and stay
that way so we know which coins have been selected.

I can get the coin to dissolve out but then it doesn't hyperlink and when I
return to the slide, the coin is still there.
