making chart element changes that persist

Using Excel2003.

I format the data series in an excel pivot chart in a particular color, but
when the underlying data refreshes (from a Pivot Table) the change I made is
lost and the color reverts back to an Excel default. It's straightforward
enough to go back and make the change again, but time consuming each time.

Hi,

It is a known bug. Have a read of Debra's page on Jon's site, where
there is mention of this. Under the heading "Refreshing the Pivot Table
Removes Formatting".
