Hi,

I am making changes to my newly published website and I've discovered that
my currently published site is reflecting the changes as I'm making (icky
stuff and all!).

How do I make changes/updates to my site without showing on the web? My
apologies in advance if this an elementary question.

If your server has FP extensions enabled and working...work on your local
(on your hardrive) web/site first - when your happy with your local web/site
then Publish it via http:

Sounds like you're working on the live server (which does require FP
extensions).

Edit a copy of your web on your own computer; then publish to the remote
server. It sounds like you're opening the web live, and have no local back
up to fall back on if the server blows up which means "Adios amigo" for your
site if you didn't have a back up.

To publish to your hard drive, open the site live in Frontpage, then go to
File > Publish and specifiy a location on your computer e.g. my documents/my
webs/[web folder name]
so you can then work on the local copy, and publish changes without them
being immediately viewable, if you're in the middle of something.

Thanks Andrew. This did the trick!
