When I first got my computer I was told that they did not provide system
reinstall cd's anymore since you can make the Cd's yourself. I have no clue
how this is done, so any help?

Making the recovery DVD or CD's is a function that the manufacturer
provides, not Microsoft. Sometimes you are apparently given only one chance
to do so (or so I have read here), at the first use. I suggest you check
your computer manual to find out how to do so.

And what is the make and model of your new computer?
Did you you read the User's Guide that came with the computer?
Did you visit the computer manufacturer's support web site for instructions?

In help and support on your computer, search for recovery disc. This should
lead to instructions on how to create the disc or discs. The procedure may
give you a choice of media (CD/DVD/DVD-DL) depending on the capability of
your hardware. It takes typically 6 to 10 CDs or 1 or 2 DVDs. You can
typically only make one set of recovery discs, and if you have problems
during the process you will probably be able to start over.

Perhaps if you would bother to read the manuals that came with your
computer, or to use the Help and Support function.....
