Making an object appear on click out of a set sequence in PowerPoi

How can you make answers on a list appear in the sequence the class may give
them to you? Can you make it so when you click on a spot a specific answer
will appear and not always in the same "Custom Animation" click sequence?
e.g. If you wanted to ask the class what are four different makes of American
cars and when they said "Ford" you could click on a spot on the screen to
reveal the word "Ford" and then ask for another make and when they said
"Chrysler" etc..., but you can never guarantee the sequence the class will
answer, so you have to be able to know where to click on the screen for the
answer they give and have it appear.
 
If you are using PowerPoint 2002 or above, you can use animation triggers
to do what you want. Set the animation for an object (such as a text box
with the word Chrysler) and put a button on the slide. For the animation,
you will need to get the Timing options and click on Triggers. Then you
can choose to have Chrysler animated when the button is pressed.

For your example make four text boxes each with an answer.
Somewhere easy to remember say the bottom third of the screen place 4
rectangles - no line 99% transparent fill spaced across the screen

Set an entrance animation for each text box, double click the entry and in
timing set a trigger (start effect on click of - choose a tranparent
rectangle) All you have to do is remember which is which trigger (maybe
alphabetic?)
