Are there plans for Windows Movie Maker to burn the created movie to a DVD?

Until then, I am going to use Sonic MyDVD. I would like my video clips to
appear on a "scene index", just like when you rent a regular DVD movie.
What is the best way for that to happen: split your *.avi files into the
"scenes" you want and save them as AVI files?

How can you split a Big.avi file into two smaller files, say File1.avi and
File2.avi, using Windows Movie Maker?

Thanks.

Well, in Dazzle's DVD Complete, you simply mark where a new chapter
begins and give it a meaningful description/title. You do not have to split
the files up.

I am not aware how Sonic MyDVD works, but I would be quite surprised if
you do not have the same option.

Failing that, if you really must split your AVI File, then using MM2 all
you need do is move the cursor to the appropriate location or play the AVI
Until the desired location is found, and then use the split file option (Its
just under the preview window) you then delete the segment not required and
save the remainder to file using a unique name. PLEASE NOTE: this in no way
affects the original AVI file...it will still be complete and untouched by
this operation if the above instructions are followed. You will find
instructions in the MM2 Help File.

All the best.....

The newest version of MyDVD 5.0 allows you to create chapter points. You
could not do that in previous versions. My DVD 5.0 Deluxe also includes AC3
audio encoding, which uses much less disc space than previous versions,
which encoded audio in PCM.

You can download a trial version at
http://support.sonic.com/trial/files/MyDVD_Trial-1.zip

WARNING: It will overwrite your previous version of MyDVD, so you'll have
to re-install it if you don't purchase the upgrade.

MyDVD 4 and MyDVD 5 supports creating chapter points by pressing the space
bar at the desired spot(s).
