Hi all,

I would like to make a running slide show
with accompanying music in the background.

I have 400 slides and the songs and I want
to make a running slide presentation on a
dvd.

If I can do this in Impress/Powerpoint that
would be wonderfull since I could run it on
Linux and Windows.

Is this possible? has anyone out there tried
anything like this?

Would a stand alone program that does
this be easier?

thanks,
charles....

Having just done this for my daughters's Jr. High Band, in order to add a
slide show to a DVD I created, I'd suggest doing a bit of a Google search
for "slideshow creation automatic" or similar terms. If I was at home, I'd
give you a couple of program names.

The programs I found were basically "point to folder with the pictures,
point to the music you want, go". It automatically created it.

If you can live with some limitations, PhotoStory 3 (free from Microsoft)
can do the same thing easily (might limit at 300 pictures, though). Movie
Maker might do it too.

You can do it in Powerpoint, I'm sure. It just won't be as easy or as quick.

What program did you use and did you like it?

thanks.....

Every time I've tried to run a DVD, my laptop has been slow to respond. If
you want the music to start when the slides start and end when slide 400 is
complete you'll have to digitize the music as separate files and link them to
your show.

Charles - One I tried and that did a nice job was Momento Express
(http://www.momentodvd.com/getmomento.php)

If you use Google and look for variations on "slideshow creator", you'll
find dozens of candidates. I don't think Win2k Pro will be an issue. There
are a number of free options (Momento Express is free, in fact).

Good luck.

Hi charles
If you want to copy you presentation to a DVD, you have to converter the
file format.
Change the ppt file to a video one so that it can be burned to a DVD.

As for the conversion you need to use a conversion software. In fact, nearly
all the softwares enable you to add songs to all slides or selected slides
as background music. You can also add narration or vedio.

These softwares can converter presentation to dvd.

Since you have 400 slides and just want to add songs to your presentation ,
I think it is a good choice because it is easy to use and has a better
conversion result with reasonal price.

You can also try this.It has more functions. Therefore it is highly priced.
