making a cd

The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer will not run on Windows 95 or Windows 98 systems.
As I've said, it does run in Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, and XP. The old
Viewer download file could be used by users with Windows 95 and 98. They
would need to install it on their systems. It is available at
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/Ppview97.aspx and can be included
on your CD. You could also include the Mac Viewer and Mac users would also
need to install it on their systems.

The CD, however, would only autorun successfully on Win 98 SE, ME, 2000, and
XP systems. On Mac systems it will do nothing. On Windows 95 and 98 it
will probably yield an error message because the CD will attempt to run the
new Viewer and the Viewer will issue an error which says, "The Microsoft
Office PowerPoint Viewer could not start. This version of the PowerPoint
Viewer is only supported on Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition.....".

first I would like to thank Sonia for all the help she has given me and
kudos for Powerlink Plus which works wonderfully.

I have a question.. I have xp home and PowerPoint 2002. I have made a
presentation with sound and slides. I need to distribute this to people who
do not understand computers well and to people who may be using Mac or
windows 95 or 98.
it is my understanding that 95 and 98 are not supported and will not be
able to autorun a cd. does that mean that even if they go into the d drive
and open explore, d/l the ppt viewer that the slide show will still not
work? and what if I burned a cd using the Powerink Plus and also burned the
mac viewer with it.. could Mac people be able to go to the d drive and
install the ppt viewer for a Mac and then see the slide show.
just trying to cover as many bases as possible on this one cd.
Would it be better to change it into PDF and then create a autorun cd with
acrobat?
Is there a way that i could make the cd open with m. explorer and
circumvent any problems with a Mac or windows 95 etc? if so where is the
tutorial for this so i can learn how to do this...

any ideas? thanks
mastersed
