I have recently loaded adobe photo elements 2.0 and now every time I click to
open a picture it opens with the adobe program. It used to open using teh
windows picture viewer and than if I wanted to edit the pic it would go to
the the adobe business edition i used to run. How can I get it to go back to
that, it even opens with adobe when I right click and select preview.

====================================
Right click an image file...from the menu
choose...Properties / General tab / Change button.
Select...Windows Picture and Fax Viewer...
OK / Apply / OK.

If you want to make the windows picture viewer your default viewer:
go into EXPLORER,
click on the TOOLS menu and then
click on FOLDER OPTIONS.
From there click on FILE TYPES.
Windows will then scan and bring up a list of all of your various file types
and their associated extensions.
Scroll down the list until you find the file type(s) you want your default
viewer to open,
click on it and when it is highlighted, click on the CHANGE button.
Select the application you want to use and your default viewer and then
click on the OK button.

If the viewer you want to use does not show up, press the BROWSE button and
then you will need to search for the EXE file that executes the viewer you
want. But for the Windows viewer it should show up in the change listing.

You will probably have to change several of the file types. The folder
options panel will stay open for you to do that.

I hope that helps and is not too confusing. If you have any questions, let
me know. BTW, there may be other ways to "skin the cat" but that is the way
I do it and it works great.

i'm having the same problem.. and i see where you said to go into Explore ..
etc.. but my problem from there.. is ..i dont' really have a clue on which
one to choose out of that list of file types!!

Try another way.
Right click on a photo.
Click on Open with on the opening menu
A list will open. click on Choose program at the bottom of the list.
Another list will open. Click on Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Then check the box "Always open...."
