I have set the detal color and set the Tab control Back Style to
transparent. The color is there but the Tab Control is NOT
transparent. It is white. I want it to be the same color as the
detail. Nothing I do seems to work. Is there a secret to this?

Thanks for any info

Are you on Windows XP? The newer theme style seems to interfere with the
transparency of the tab control.

Yes. I am on XP, but I'm not sure what you mean by the newer theme
style. Is it the default theme or one of the added selections? And,
is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks

Right-click the desktop, and choose Properties.

On the Thems tab, choose the Theme:
Windows Classic
and click Ok.

Reopen Access: viola: transparent tab controls suddenly work.

I tried your suggestion and it di indeed work.
But, I tried another database that I had created about a month ago and
it worked withe either setting. Also, does this mean that if I give
someone my database, they will have this problem, even if I create the
database with Windows Classic setting?

One more question. Is there any way to color the area behind the
tabs? I wont even ask about the tabs.. ;-)

Thanks again for your help

Sounds like you understand what's happening now. I won't even try to guess
what will happen to these colours/transparencies when Longhorn comes out.

If you want further help with these graphical things, Stephen Lebans knows
much more about it than I do. Visit www.lebans.com and see what he has (all
free).
