make some parts of page editable, and some not

I have FrontPage 2002. How can I create a master page
where only certain areas are editable by another person
opening that page in FrontPage. I want them to be able to
change some content, but not mess with the navigation
buttons and a few other page elements. It sounds like
this can be set up with Dreamweaver and Contribute, but
can it be done with FrontPage 2002 alone?

No, but it can be done with FrontPaghe 2003 alone.

You would have to use server-side scripting and write a custom application
that would allow someone to login and edit the specific data of the page or
pages.
