There is one user on both my desktop and laptop - dennist685. How can I make
myself the administrator. The reason I ask is that when I try to upgrade an
Access database to sql server 2005, or create a new database in sql server
2005 I'm not allowed to do so because I don't have administrative privileges.

The same thing happens when I try certain things in asp.net 2.0.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Well what you do is, Go to Control Panel, then go to User Accounts and click
youself, then click "Change My Account Type" and then click "Computer
Administrator". Then click OK

thanks for anwering after all this time, but I found out I was already an
administrator. I still can't convert an access database

Being an administrator is *NOT* the same thing as being an
administrator to a SQL database. Contact whomever installed and
configured SQL to determine what needs to be done to grant you database
administration privileges on the SQL server.

Oops! That should have read: "Being an administrator on the
workstation is *NOT* the same...."
