Make it possible to apply a custom annimation after every carriage

Nomally after you type your presetation and if you want to add custom
animation you have to go line for line in each slide and you have set the
first line of ever slide to "with previous" or else you will have to click
twice to advance the slide. What would be great is if you can make it to
where you could apply a custom animation to entire project based up on
carriage return and it would automatically make the first line of everslide
default to "with previous"

If you add custom animation on the placeholder in slide master (View > Master
Slide Master), you can apply the effect and set "With Previous" on the
first line which will make the changes globally on all the slides.

PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate

Does this require you to use the preset place holders under master view
because I never use them. The reason why I never uses them is because I like
to use the full width of my screen and I like my text box to be at the very
top of the screen. Is there a way to do this because I have not been able to
figure out how with the presets and when I draw a text box in master view its
not there when I go back to to the regular screen and I cant get what you
suggested to work by using this method.

That does not help me any. If I understand correctly in order to use
animation schemes you have to have your text in the defaut place holders and
you have to use bullets for it recognize the indvidual lines that need to be
animated and as far as I know you cannot use random effects with animation
schemes.

So why can't you customize the slide master to format the placeholders to the
way you described--make them bigger, adjust the position, etc.? Their
placement and size isn't locked in stone.

That sounds good but it does not work for me. Tell me what I am doing wrong.
I go into master setup delete all the placehoders execpt 1 and readjust it to
how I like it but when I go back to the regular view it always puts 2 place
holders instead and there no longer edge to edge.

If this problem can be solved wont I still have to put a bullet before each
sentence I want it to apply an animation scheme to?

My suggestion:
First don't delete the placeholders. Instead, in master view take the first
placeholder and arrange it where you want and stretch it to the size you
want. Then do the same with the second placeholder. With the second
placeholder selected, click the bullets button in the formatting toolbar to
turn bullets off. You could even go so far as to add your animation to the
master slide, then you wouldn't need to touch the animations for the
individual slides.

Next, return to regular view and bring up the Slide Layout task pane. Decide
if you want just a title or a title with more lines. If title only, select
the "Title Only" slide layout. Put your title text in that box and add the
graphics, or whatever else to the slides. If you want title with additional
lines, use the regular layout. It should show with no bullets.

Does that get you closer? If not, let us know more about why you are setting
up your slides with the text so close to the edge. I would imagine that
while it might make it easier for you, it might also get annoying for those
viewing the presentation.... You may have a reason for it, if so tell it to
us. Knowing that reason might help all of us help you better.

I believe life is meant to be lived. But:
if we live without making a difference, it makes no difference that we lived

Thanks for the info Kathy. It helped some but I have come to realization that
it just won't do exactly what I would like it to do. The only layout choices
seems to involve both the Title and the text but not just the text. For what
I do with it I dont need a Title just text. Now what I did to accomplish my
goal was to delete the title placeholder and restreach the Text place holder
to the full length of the screen. Then I simply CNTRL D that slide so the
next slides would be the same.

This made it possilbe to assign all the carriage returns with the animation
schemes. That does accomplish what I asked for but unfortantly the animation
scheme is limited on choices. It would be nice if "random animation" or some
of the other animatiions availble under custom animations were able to be
used under animation schemes.

I don't want to turn this into a novel but I want to explain how I use power
point. I am a preacher and I primarly use it to display the verses I use with
in my sermon so that all can follow along. Now I know the accepted rule is
not to have more than 5 words or so per line and to have those spaces on the
left and right, but those rules don't apply to my situation and no one has
any problems following along with the verse. This why I use the entire screen
exept I dont use the very bottom because some sitting in the back can see the
very bottom.

I use power point with every sermon and class so I am always looking for new
ways to speed up my productivity. For an example of how I use cut and paste
this into your browswer:
