Is there a way to make Windows XP see a folder as a CD-ROM drive? I have
some programs that require the CD to be in the drive, but I'm using a netbook
that doesn't have a CD-ROM drive. I'd like to just copy the files to a
folder, and have XP see that folder as a CD-ROM drive. Any help is greatly
apprecitated.

This is done with a third-party program that creates virtual drives.

You can get some good recommendations at forums at the above websites.

Highlight folder; right click, choose Properties; Change Icon. Should
be lots of CD icons for the folder in the default display.

Don't know how to make a folder look like a CD drive but you might try this.
Use Daemon(freeware) to make a virtual DVD drive
Make an ISO image of your CD
Mount the image on the virtual drive.
