When we cold boot our pocket pc with a VB Dot Net application installed we
lose the Compact Framework. We then have to download it again. Is there a
way to avoid this from happening?

That depends on the device. Does it have non-volatile memory? If not
built-in, you could install the application to a storage card of some sort,
if supported by the device.

He could altneratively create an auto-run installer that checks to see if
the .NET CF is installed and if not, installs it upon insert of the media
card. I've had to do this for some clients in the past who would forget to
charge their device regularly. Its good for projects where the additional
cost of the media card won't restrict sales and it helps reduce support
costs.
