I don't know how CAD programs treat image files. but, I would take your ..jpg image into a paint program, something along the lines of Paint Shop Pro. Get you image to the state that you want, then from within PowerPoint Click on Format | Background, from the Drop down select fill Effects | Picture, and navigate to the picture you have selected. Insert the picture you have selected, and the click on Apply to All.

I have a high end 3d CAD program... how can I take an image (JPEG) and
convert it into a power point slide background that is a faded or a ghosted
image for the background of a slide presentation.
I would then like to do my presenation on that background.
Ideas?
