Just taken delivery of new super duper MESH computer this week - which I am
having terrible trouble with. I had a guy install it for me and it was fine.
That night I installed BT Yahoo Broadband, Kodak Easyshare software that came
with camera and Norton Anti Virus. Logged off and powered down correctly. The
next day I booted up and quickly started having problems. Blue screen started
appearing, covered in Windows error messages, and vanishing to quickly for me
to read much and computer rebooted. this kept happening until eventually it
froze on the blue screen - thankfully giving me time to read it! And when I
say it froze, it really froze. PC wouldn't power down, I had to unplug it.
Anyway screen said:
A problem has been detecte and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR _EQUAL
STOP 0X0000000D1
(Then there were some other codes as follows)
0x000000030
0x00000007
0x00000000
0XF83A79aAO
viamraid.sys address F83A79AO base at F839D000
Date Stamp 4063e304
Beginning dump of Physical memory

Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Mesh Technical Helpdesk what me
to send PC back to them to fix - is this necessary or is solution simple?
Is it likely to be the software I have loaded? This happened twice when I
was loading pics on to Easyshare.

Would be grateful for any advice

Paul

You receive a STOP 0xD1 error message when you start your Windows XP-based computer

Have you tried loading XP into safe mode; press F8
straight after bios boots up. look for the option to
system restore to 1st saved point. this hopefully will
return the PC back to its original state before any
software was added. I have come across something similar
before and if I remember right, it was after I loaded on
Norton antivirus. if it works, I would load on software 1
at a time to try narrow down the problem. also check the
Microsoft website as they have a free XP registry checker.

Basically the location tells me your raid controller
crashed, and started a mini dump. If you can not boot
into the system normally, try using the F8 key on start
up and get into safe mode, and run system restore.

Thanks everybody - that gives me someting to work with. The link to the
Windows error message page tells you that Service Pack 2 fixes the problem -
my PC came delivered with SP2 installed! I'll try the F8 system restore method

I have been all over the Microsoft website and can't find the free XP
registry checker you referred to.
