Major JAVASCRIPT Problems

for the last several days, I have not been able to get
ANY javascripts to run in IE 6. I went to the
Tools>Internet Options>Advanced, made sure that the three
boxes under MS VM were checked (only the last one was),
rebooted the OS and NOTHING. A bit frustrating....
Next, I read the message about a page or two below mine
about Javascript problems, downloaded the program,
installed it, rebooted and STILL NOTHING. The problem is
that when I click on a javascript link, nothing happens:
no window opens, no nothing. I am out of ideas; can
anyone help me with this? Thanks a bunch in advance!
