I need to save powerpoint slides out as an image (the only file I can
post to an existing website).

Currently when they are saved out as images the resolution is reduced.
Is there a way to save these out without reducing the resolution?

I.e. if the file is saved out to .jpg and then brought back into
powerpoint the image is now dithered.

Several:

Improve PowerPoint's GIF, BMP, PNG, JPG export resolution

Is this something that will be needed on a single machine or on several?

I don't think this works on versions of PowerPoint prior to 2003, but there
is a registry hack that will change the resolution of exported slides, but
messing with the registry incorrectly can cause total computer failure. Be
right or you may sing the reformat blues.
