Anyone know any freeware that will maintain the full screen window (with
Status and Explorer bars) when "Opening in New Window".

This is something I do a lot to retain the original page when looking at
several links, and my m/c has started opening them about 3" square for some
reason. It started after I downloaded a load of updates from Microsoft (XP
Home), but I don't know whether that caused it.

I'm sure I saw an ap that did this, but I forget what it was called.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

AutoSizer from www.southbaypc.com works for me on win98. Should work with XP

This is a common problem with IE. First close all IE windows except for
one. Next make the window be exactly the size you want it by dragging the
edges to the desired size. Do not use the Maximize button! Finally close
the window using the X or File>>Close. This way Win XP will remember the
way you like that window to remain for the next time you open a new one.

Works for me on Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

Description:
(freeware) OS: Win95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP (if using: IE v 5.5+)
(English)
AutoSizer automatically resizes any window you specify.
For instance, some web browsers open up in a non-maximized window.
Using AutoSizer, you can set those windows
to automatically maximize every time they are opened.
It works with almost any program, including web browsers,
Notepad, etc.
AutoSizer stays running in the
system tray (next to the time), so it stays out of your way while it works.

Thanks, guys, for your comments and help. I will try AutoSizer .. looks
just the thing.

^^, suggested F11 - yes it does work, but you lose the Status and Explorer
bars, and you don't want to keep pressing F11 when opening a lot of windows.
Thanks anyway...

badgolferman, I have done this loads of times, and the first time IE opens
it opens properly - it's subsequent screens that open small. I think it's
probably a registry tweak, but I don't like messing with the registry!

Thanks again.

Hope it works OK for you. I only use it for maximizing all my windows as
I found the popup closer less useful. The confusing thing is at the
beginning where
you have to minimize the program to start it maximizing....a bit
counter-intuitive I found .

Yes, it works fine for me. I use another prog, FreeSurfer, for my popups. I
only want to sort the tiny new IE windows, and this prog certainly does the
trick.

Thanks again.
