maintain automatic format when adding new calendars

How can I maintain automatic formatting (colors ) for standing appointments
in my master calendar when I add new calendars?

Now, as soon as I add a new calendar, the automtic formatting in my original
calendar disappears.
 
Automatic formatting only applies to the calendar (or other folder) for
which it was created. If you use conditional formatting, it should apply
across all folders of the same type.

Are you doing it using views? If so, you need to apply that view to the new
folder.
