Main Page Slowness

I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem with the main page loading slowly for some users. It doesn't appear to happen when not logged in (from what I can tell) so I have temporarily removed the new posts/images counters from the front page.

I'll only be doing this for several hours to see if this is the problem. Could those users that experienced slow main page loading see if it makes a difference for them, and I'll try to work something out

I've managed to eliminate that as a cause already, so I'll look into caching some of the MySQL queries on the front page as that is pretty much the only thing left
