Main Menu Form will not open

I have an Access 2000 database set up to open the main menu form at start up.
When I try to open the database it hangs up, the task manager tells me that
Access is not responding and I have to shut it down. If I bypass opening the
form at start up by holding down shift, the database opens. Once the database
opens I still can not open the main menu, it hangs up again. I've tried
replacing the main menu form by importing the form from a back up and get the
same results. Any reccomendations?
 
I would look at the Load Form and/or Open Form events in the form module. If
you have a backup, then delete all of the code from these two events. If the
form loads successfully, then add in a line of two of code into one or the
other event.
