Mailto: problem with Firefox 0.9.1

Has anyone solved the mailto: problem with Firefox? There does not
seem to be any way to point Firefox to Thunderbird when using a
mailto: function on the web. Instead it opens several instances of IE
then crashes.

Any ideas? No response from the Firefox support pages and quite a few
queries on this subject

Would changing the setting for "URL:MailTo Protocol" at Tools -> Folder
Options -> File Types help?
 
I have solved it (I hope). I don't know why but unchecking 'default
mail program' in T'bird allows a right click mailto in Firefox and up
comes T'bird. Which is what I want.

My solution was to drop Firefox and Tbird, and get the Mozilla suite.
The browser component works seamlessly with the email component, and
both work better than FFox and TBird .
