We have MS Office 2000 Professional. The mailmerge link to Word from Outlook is not functioning due to "communication problems" according to the error message. How do we set up the Outlook Address book in Contacts to establish the link to Word. Thank

Janet

Make sure Outlook is your default mail program and that you have added the
Outlook Address Book Service to your Outlook profile.
Go to Tools > Services. Make sure the Outlook Address Book service is
listed. If not, add it. Next, R click on the Contact folder or folders you
want the OAB to display, choose "Properties", go to the Outlook Address Book
tab and check the "Show this folder as an E-mail address book" box. You may
also need to go to Tools > Options > Addressing Tab and choose to show your
Contacts folder.

I could not find the Services tab under Tools. I found Directory Services but this referred to an Internet Account. Have I missed something

Always post your mail support mode when you have questions about Outlook
2000. If you make us guess, we'll guess wrong half the time.
It's listed in line 2 of Help | About, if you don't know.
What is your default mail program and Contacts Manager?

Mail Support Mode: "No email.
Default Mail Program: Outlook is our default email program but our ISP is Aol and we use them for all our internet activities.
Contacts Manager: Not sure what this means. Sorr

Hope this helps

Oh for heavens sake.
You have no mail transports configured for Outlook. Mail transports are
required for mail merge. Did you not read my first post? Outlook must be
your default mail program if you want to use mail merge.
