I'm running Outlook 2000 and my Mailbox.pst file has become corrupt (CRC
error). Could
be a bad sector on the HD - not sure. My question though is: Is there a way
to recover the data in this file? I don't want to lose all my e-mail and
addresses. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'll reply to my own message and say that I found a *wonderful* utility
(http://www.bykeyword.com/pages/detail3/download-3172.html) which diagnosed
and fixed the CRC errors I was getting with my MAILBOX.PST file. Apparently
there were/are a couple of bad sectors on my HD where this file resides. I
couldn't run Outlook because the mailbox.pst file couldn't be read. The
CDCheck utility I found told me there were bad sectors (how many and where)
and then I used its recover feature which basically read and copied the file
into a new file. Renaming the files quickly put me back online. If you
experience CRC errors, you may want to try this program out. I just thought
I'd pass it along.
