I keep getting the following System Administrator message
in Microsoft Outlook 2000: "your mailbox is over its size
limit" despite the fact that my inbox/sent folder/deleted
folder have virtually no email in them. Are there any
settings I can check into that might need to be adjusted
to prevent getting this message? Our System Adminstrator
has little to know experience in her job so she's unable
to prevent this recurring problem. Any help will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First you need to now what your limits are. Most likely it will be displayed
in your warning mail. To get an insight on your mailbox size;
Rightclick on Outlook Today-> properties-> button Folder Size. You'll get a
summary of your mailbox and folder sizes. Remember that the number of
e-mails don't matter but the size of a mail does.
Most likely it will be messages with attachments that will cause the
oversized mailbox. Rightclcik on a "Sort by" column (like From or Received)
and choose Field Chooser from the popup menu that you get. Drag the "Size"
field and drop it between twon columns. You can now see how large each
individual message is.

Remeber for mailsize;
b -> very small
Kb-> small
MB -> big

Hope this helped!

Right-click on your top-level folder (Outlook Today) in your folder list, go
to properties, folder size. It will show you where the space is being used.

Your company might want to bring in a consultant for a bit to show your
sysadmin how to manage Exchange - it isn't something you want a newbie admin
playing with if your company relies on mail and collaborative Outlook
features.
