Hello everyone,
I have some issues sending e-mail to a specific domain, Exchange says it
cannot bind to DNS. Whatever, it is not an Exchange issue...but I know the
IP of the mail server that I want to send this email to. How do I manually
route this mail? Do I have to create a new forward lookup zone for that
domain in my DNS MMC and then add an MX record?

Thanks
Ketta

What is the OS of your DNS server and are you behind a Cisco Pix firewall?

Windows 2000 Server. It is behind a PIX firewall, but nothing has been
changed on that in a while. I just configured a smart host for now to get
the mail flowing.

Did you fix the Pix Firewall to allow EDNS packets as the KB article stated?

Not yet, waiting for the firewall administrator to verify this.

Thanks in advance for the help btw. I hope this is the issue.

We set the length to 1024 from 512 and it worked! Thank you so much. I
would never have found that article in a million years.

I was taking a educated guess that you had a Pix firewall even though you
didn't mention it in your original post. This problem comes up several times
a week, few even think of mentioning they have a Pix Firewall, which is
usually the problem.
