Hi, I keep getting 42 messages trying to come through and they get stuck on
message 28. I then get a message saying 'client connected' and I can never
retrieve the other messages. I then cannot delete the first 27 messages. Do
I have a virus or something or what is happening?

There could be a message in the server that is a problem. You should use
your email provider's web mail services, or web mail in some web site. Look
at the messages in the server; you probably will want to delete the ones
that have already downloaded. That will take time to do; to match up the
ones in the server with the ones that have downloaded, but at least then
they won't download again. You will probably be able then to determine which
message is the problem, but you might need to delete more messages after
viewing them. Delete the suspicious ones that you know you don't need.

Also, I see that you have used your complete real email address in your
newsgroup account. You should not do that, since spammers will harvest your
email address. It is not a problem for others except we don't want to feed
the spammers.

Go to the webmail portal on your email account providers website.
https://webmail.three.com.au/
See if you can open the 28th message there. You may have to delete it there
if it got corrupted. And you may as well delete the first 27 messages also,
as you've already downloaded them.

I think that is what I said, except I carefully avoided saying that it is
definitely the 28th message. I am not sure that the messages are always
shown in the same order. Are you sure? If we can be sure, then that sure
makes things easier.

I always add the advice that the OP needs to sort the webmail in
date/time sequence. I believe the POP download order always uses
that sequence.
