Hi
I'm having a similar problem on a new PC with Vista.
When I create a new message and hit "send" the message goes to the
Outbox
and stays there. Similarly if I reply to a mail it just goes to the
Outbox.
"Send & Receive" does nothing.
I can close Windows Mail, open it again and then hit "Send & Receive" &
the
message will go but the Outbox still has the number of messages next to
it
even once it is empty.
I've disconnected the email scanning in Norton & I've downloaded the
fix but
it made no difference. I've also upgraded to Norton 360 with and
without
scanning but to no avail. I've just uninstalled Norton entirely and
added AVG
instead both with and without email scanning applied and the result is
identical ... no change.
I can't think of anything else to do now. Any ideas?
Thanks
Gerry
Hi Gerry,
Norton may have corrupted your email account. You will probably need
to delete your email account and recreate it again. Read the "First"
section in this tutorial about antivirus programs to help prevent this
from happening again, then install the KB941090 Microsoft Update in the
"Second" section to fix the stuck message problem.
