I managed to transfer my existing Outlook Express files to Windows Mail but
now I would like to know how can keep my portable computer messages
up-to-date on Outlook Express. This problem never existed before because it
was always possible to install the latest version of Outlook Express on as
many computers as you may have.
This being said I think like blue moon that it would be better to go back to
Windows XP to keep the bill of new software and peripherals under control, a
bill which is taking astronomic proportions.

What program you're using really has nothing to do with it as long as you
set the program to leave a copy on the server for some number of days, and
you do it in the same way with Windows Mail as with OE:
Tools | Accounts
Select the account and click Properties.
Go to the Advanced tab.

I'm assuming a POP3 account since it isn't an issue with IMAP accounts.

I need to move my wife's .pst file containing all her old emails from outlook
to this new computer, but Windows Mail says it can't import that type of
file. How do I get her email archive transferred?

Dan

pst files cannot be imported into Windows Mail. Those files are proprietary to Outlook a part of Microsoft Office

Sorry I forgot. Do you have Outlook installed at all.? You will need to have Outlook installed to achieve your import
