Mail not immediately sent

Although I have it set up to immediately send mail, this does not occur. I
have to go to the outbox, highlight the message and then click send. It then
goes out. I never had to do this before Vista. Any suggestions. Thanks

TOOLS menu|OPTIONS|SEND tab --- "immediately send" box

That is what you have check marked?
