Am attempting a mail merge (labels)….

But I fail at the MS WORD stage….
Says no record in selected view??

Not sure what my current selected view is or how to set it up.

Can you help?

TJ

Not without at least some information. Provide versions, precise steps used
(spare no detail--do not requires us to read your mind), what happens, and
how you configured the Outlook Address Book for starters.

Thanks for prompt reply Russ...

Not sure I understand outlook properly...
ie what is a contact folder and what is an address book etc
and what is the relationship between the two...?

I can now generate my labels run from with MS Word. (there is an option to
use outlook contact folders)...
but I have two major contact folders 'family' and 'Friends'
Can I merge the two in MS word mail merge...
Hope this is not too vague

Kind Regards TJ

There is no address book in Outlook, only Contact Folders. Once again, only
you have the information you request, not we. If you have two Contact
Folders, you can certainly combine them into one if that's what you want to
do. You cannot merge to more than one Contacts Folder at a time when you do
a merge from Word.

Thanks again Russ...

I used to create a label run at xmas from an MS WORKS database.
Having gone to MS OFFICE i am trying to duplicate this using outlook and word.

This should be better, since i won't have two files as vefore (viz a works
database(for the labels) and an outlook express/windows address book (for
e-mails)).

I'm just having trouble using the new commands...

Kind regards TJ

You'll always have an easier time if you start the merge from Outlook
instead of Word.
