Hi is it possible to do a Word mailmerge using an Outlook Address Book as
the data source?

The Outlook Address Book does not exist. You would use your Outlook Contacts
as a datasource for a merge.
 
Thanks for that.

Do i need to have the 'USe as an Email Outlook Address Book' check box
ticked - because they are all greyed out. and when i select mt Outlook
Contacts for the datasource, I am getting a MAPI error and being told that
the data source cannot be opened

You must first install the Outlook Address Book Service in your profile,
then select each folder as an email address book:
