I have an address database set up in Access 2000 which I
use to print envelopes through mail merge with Word. The
fields are Surname, Firstname, Adress1, etc. Some of the
names only have a Firstname - and in the table these are
sorted first, then by Surname. When the merge is
activated, the sorting order of Firstname seems to be all
out of sync, but from Surname onwards the sorting seems to
be ok. This would not usually be a problem, but sometimes
the print run just seems to stop of its own accord in the
middle of nowhere, and when this happens early in the
merge, during the printing of the Firstname records, then
it's really difficult to figure out where to restart the
print from. So, we have two problems here I'd like
feedback on please:
1. The sort order - why is this out of sync
2. Why does the print run just suddenly stop for no reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I print out 2000
of these envelopes every week.
