Mail Merge using Contacts

I send a newsletter out once a month in PDF format and attach it to an email
cover letter. I would like to personalize the cover letter with the persons
first name in a greeting using mail merge in Word and using the Outlook
Contacts which isn't a problem if I follow this knowledge base article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;294694 but I can't
figure out any way to add the PDF file as an attachment to the email. In the
last item you can choose to send the mail as HTML or as an attachment but
that sends the cover letter as an attachment. I know there must be a way to
do this but I haven't been able to figure it out.

TIA,
Gregg

Thanks Sue, I was afraid that was going to be the answer.

Office is incapable of doing a mail merge with a cover letter and an
attachment (unless you want to figure out how to do it in VBA code). There
are third-party tools that can do this. See
