Mail Merge - Office crashes

Whenever I am trying to run the wizard of mail merge, it goes to Step 3 of 6
where I point to Select from Outlook Contacts and on clicking "Choose
Contacts Folder", the Office programme crashes and sends a report to
Microsoft. Can someone suggest a work around to this issue?

Do the versions match for both Word and Outlook? Integration between
components require they be the same version.
 
Hi,

The versions match. I succeded in getting the mail merge after starting the
Word in Safe Mode.
