Mail Merge in Microsoft Works

I know that I can merge data in a Mail Merge document from a database or the
address book. In a database I can easily select records by checking them and
then using a filter to only merge checked records. How can I select only a
few addresses from the address book that have nothing in common?

How the feck should we know?! This group is, as you would have known had you
read the group topic, for basic issues with the Windows XP operating system,
not for applications installed thereunder. If you have an issue with Works,
please post to the Works group (microsoft.public.works.win).

I'm sorry that I ticked you off. The address book and Microsoft Works are
basically part of XP. It's too bad that the people here only know about the
operating system and nothing else. I am using Microsoft's web site
application to access this group and microsoft.public.works.win is not
available there.

BTW: I solved it myself.

Works is *not* "basically part of XP." It's a separate application, or
group of application. You have Outlook Express; why not use it for
newsgroup access?

Don't be sorry. *Everybody* ticks her off.

are basically part of XP.

No, not true. Although your computer may have come with both
Windows XP and Microsoft Works, they are two separate products,
sold separately. Works is *not* part of WIndows XP.

That's not so at all. Many people here know a great deal about
lots of different software products. However, this newsgroup is
specialized for Windows XP. If everyone posted all their
questions about every aspect of computing here, the volume of
messages would increase dramatically, and those looking for
information about XP would have a hard time finding it.

I am using Microsoft's

microsoft.public.works.win is not available there.

Using the web interface to read this newsgroup is the slowest,
clunkiest, most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor
and switch to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes
with Windows.
