Mail merge BIG problems

I am new to access and have set up a full database. I tried to secure it and used the security wizard for this, and assigned user accounts etc. But things went wrong! - my reports didn't load, and worst when I tried to mail merge with word - it won't recognise any of my users or passwords. So.. I reloaded a back up copy prior to the security. This will allow me to export a query as a mail merge, but still won't allow me to connect in any other way to the database for mail merge as it continues to ask for login user name and passwords - which I don't have anymore

Can anyone help? Is there any way back

Much obliged.

Likely, you need to re-set your word document back to the original mdb file
also.

(it is likely still set, or attached to the secured database).

So, just make a new word doc, and then start the mail merge wizard and
attached the word doc to your un-secured database.

If "all" your databases are asking for a password, that is because you have
a password on the default "admin" user. So, remove that password, and you
will not be prompted for the logon anymore.

As for merging with word, give my read to go "packaged" free solution a try.
It eliminates all security prompts and problems. In fact, it eliminates a
ton of problems you encounter when do a word merge.

Try my merge stuff...it works for secure, and non-secure databases....

You can find this little wonder at:

Albert - your solution is BRILLIANT - but I have three problems still

1. When I mail merge from a field that is a look up column, it is merging the ID number and not the text - I have tried loads of solutions but to no avail

2. On one of my forms it will not work and comes up with the message "Run time error 438" Object doesnot support this property or method

3. How do I get the merge all button to work - I copied the code but this is not happy

Any chance of more assistance PLEASE. Many thanks in advance.
