Hi can anyone explain to me in layman's terms cause I'm not the brightest
bulb in the box :)) Why the 2 emails, 1 in the outbox and 1 in the inbox will
not allow me to open them or send them. I have tried deleting the entirre box
but error message keeps coming up. I have gone through my computer and system
and tried as an administrator to remove them but no luck :(
Please help I would really appreicate it and is there anyway of not allowing
these emails in or is it another blip with vista.
thanks

We think this happens because Windows Mail is vulnerable to
database corruption caused by overly aggressive antivirus programs.
So, the first step is to uninstall non-compatible antivirus programs.
McAfee and Norton antivirus are not compatible with Windows Mail,
and should be uninstalled. Replace them with a compatible antivirus
such as the free version of Avast:

The next step is to clear the stuck message in the outbox.
You can use the Clear Outbox feature of the WMUtil program:

Be sure to read all the directions on that page.

The message stuck in the inbox is much more difficult to treat.
If you can, just ignore it. If it gets much worse, my advice is to upgrade
to Windows Live Mail which is less susceptible to this problem:

Windows Mai, nor any other email client is designed to
send messages from the inbox. Having said that the message
stuck in the inbox is a cosmetic problem and will not stop
you sending mail.

However the message stuck in your outbox is another matter.
I don't know the mechanics of it preventing you sending mail
but there is a solution....

Use Dr,. Cochrans Elixir....

The following utility, if used in accordance with the
program operating instructions, will free up your outbox
and let you send mail again.

It happens because there is an error in the database processing of the
messages and the database says there is a message, when none exists, and the
interface to the database is unable to remove the false entry.

As Julian indicated, you can use my Windows Mail Utility
(www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) to remove the stuck outbox messages, but the one in
the inbox you need to just ignore.

I wish we could automate a Wmutil post reply
for every mention of outbox.
I reckon it would be virtually 100% appropriate.
