Mail integrated into Tasks

C

I have been using my task file only for calls I need to make from my
contacts. Today I opened my task's up and it was full of all of my mail, some
way my mail had all integrated into my tasks. I do not want any of my mail
to show up in tasks. How do I get all of my mail out of Tasks & prevent this
from happening again??? These tasks are my work, they are the calls I need
to be making all day & now its so messed up I cant find anything.
Can any one please help me with this???

Version of Outlook? If 2007, are you looking in the To-do folder and seeing
flagged messages? Tasks will be in the tasks folder.

In am some what new to using outlook & I can not reamber exaclly how I
had things arranged? I am using Outlook 2007 & I know I clicked Tasks then I
cant rember if on the left side of the page but I think I had clicked on "To
do List" under "My Tasks" then under "current view" I have clicked "by
Catagory.
This would then show me only the contact & flags with the dates of when I
needed to call these people back. Does this explain any better?

Are you flagging your email? That is what puts them in the to-do list. If
you want just contacts you need to either customize the current view or make
a new one that shows only items from the contact folder.

I think I found what happened, but I dont know how to un do it . I just
noticed after reading your reply that some how all 600+ emails I have in my
email in box ALL got flaged with red flag & that would have put them into my
todo file in Tasks. (is this correct?) Now how can I "Clear" the flag on all
600+ emails, and if this is done will this take the emails out of the Task
file?
Thanks in advance.

Select all and right click on the flag icon, choose Clear flag. It's also
accessible from the Actions, Follow-up menu.

Yes, it will remove them from the list.
