I keep getting an error message when trying to send mail through Outlook in
Vista. Message is:The message could not be sent. The authentication setting
might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving
this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read
the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help
determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service
provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'SCSEP',
Account: 'pop.dlth.qwest.net', Server: 'pop.dlth.qwest.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '554 5.7.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected:
Relay access denied', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error
Number: 0x800CCC79

I have tried everything I know how to do to change this. Does anyone have
any ideas? Thank you.

You say you are trying to send email using Outlook, but then you cite an
error message referring to Windows Mail. Which mail client are you actually
using? In either case, you should first seek help from whomever administers
the mail server you are trying to use (qwest.net).

If the problem is not configuration, you need to post your question in a
discussion group for either Windows Mail or Outlook. This group is for .NET
programming questions.

For Outlook:
