In x86 and x64 when I click there, I can check/uncheck items but cannot
scroll down. After ~1 minute I can then scroll down. change something - then
change it back - click apply - nothing happens - after 1 minute. I can then
click OK to exit. You too ?
This is a full time job - I'm done for tonight.

This bug is fixed in later versions. Hang in there.
(When I was running 5384 it would never clear up, no matter how long I
waited. And scrolling in the Customize Toolbar window was a problem, too.
Mouse wheel worked, though.)

It's known bug that it is "Fixed in later versions ?" What does that mean. I
thought this was the latest ??!! If not, and a fix is out, then WHY are WE
TESTING THIS ? So I'm wasting my time going thru this and submitting
feedback etc ?

The TechBeta program is currently on build 5456 and will see another build
in a few weeks. They see a new build about once a month. We started with
something like Beta 1 build 5108, as I recall. The CPP only got 5384 and
will get whatever build RC1 turns out to be.

Bobb why not use a proper newsclient, Lookout Express or whatever its
called in Vista has always had problems, testing is one thing but I
only try it so I can set it up for clients. I use Agent myself on
Windows & Linux boxes, there are many others far better than OE ?
Windows Mail.

Agent works fine in Vista, have not tried anything else yet.

You don't have to pay for it just install and select "free agent".
Thunderbird probably works fine also.

I've used Outlook since I can remember (not Express). Many advocate Eudora
or, more recently, Thunderbird, Yahoo and Gee! Mail!. Thing is, people
become comfortable with something.

Besides, OE/WM has been around long enough that Bobb has more than a
reasonable expectation that this application should function as expected
without exception.

Thank you Mark.
For day-to-day XP / 2000 PCs at home, I read mail/newsgroups with OE.
BTW I do have/use Outlook too , but I'm beta testing aren't I ? That's
why using WM.

Well yeah but Beta Testing also involves seeing what works and what
does not, also installing new stuff to try is actually Beta Testing.,
so when you stick something on a customers machine you don't look like
a pratt cos you tried it first.

8-)

Agreed. Sometimes it still doesn't work out too well, but agreed. But I
still maintain that WinMail should not be buggy since it is not really an
upgrade to OE6, merely a new skin, from what I can tell.

We'll agree to agree then?

I have tried WinMail, its OK but I just never liked OE so I never use
it, and WinMail appears to have a few a few bugs, try it in a user
account with parental controls on and security enabled, you'll enjoy
that........I did.

No your not wasting time I'm sure theres more issues to work different
systems and configurations will have different problems.
but as far as your original bug I have the same problem and although it not
a fix I have found out how to get around the delay on
this build.

Just hit Apply and if it will not close just minimize windows mail and
restore the window then hit close again and it will
