Mail format option grayed out

I have a user, who has Office 2000 Suite, who installed Outlook 2002 on
their PC because it came with a new PDA. Now the option to choose Word as
the email editor is grayed out. Also, the area where the signature can be
changed does not work. Is it an obvious problem with Outlook 2002 not
getting along with Word 2000 or is it something else. He said the install
went smoothly and gave him no error messages. Still, they are supposed to
tell me before they install anything...but he's the BOSS!! Any help would
be appreciated.

It's an incompatibility issue. You cannot use Word 2000 as the e-mail
editor for Outlook 2002 -- the versions of Word and Outlook must match.
