I have several duplicate mail folders, which appeared
while trying to "clean up" my files. When I right click
on any of them, there is no choice to delete them. When
I opend up "properties" and select "advanced", I get the
following message "The operation failed. No object could
be found". Any way to get rid of these?

Where are the "folder" objects that you are using? In the Outlook Bar
or in the tree node list? The objects in the bar are shortcuts so if
the object to which point has been moved or renamed then those shortcuts
are invalid. Delete them and then drag over the valid node from the
tree list to create a new shortcut.

If you are getting multiple same-named nodes in the tree list then use
the File menu to close all the opened .pst files. Then just open your
..pst file.

Thank you for your response. These folder icons are in
the tree node. I selected them one at a time and went to
the file menu, where I selected "close all items". No
response. They appear to be mirrors of my main personal
folder.

Outlook won't let you close your current information store (.pst file).
If there are no other root nodes (or .pst files) to close (that had the
duplicate folders but in a separate tree), then I'd try to create a new
..pst file and import the old one. You will have to then change your
information store (by changing to which .pst file that incoming messages
are delivered). When importing, don't enable the option to include
subfolders; otherwise, you might end up with another .pst file that has
duplicate folders like your old one.

Thank you. Creating a new one took care of the problem.

You corrupted your profile.
Create a new one.
